Sensory Garden

The Sensory Garden at Memphis Botanic Garden was created in 1989 by the Little Garden Club. This garden was awarded The Garden Club of America’s prestigious Founder’s Fund Award.

The fully accessible Sensory Garden enables individuals with special needs to enjoy their garden experience with ease. Wind chimes and fountains provide wonderful sounds as aromatic and textured plants are elevated around the perimeter for easy access.

Little Garden Club continues to provide funding for the maintenance and upkeep of this garden. We also support various other projects at Memphis Botanic Garden, especially the Children’s Garden (My Big Backyard).

Wolf River Conservancy

We have partnered with the Wolf River Conservancy to help with their efforts in outreach, recreation, education, and most importantly conservation of the Wolf River watershed. We provide funding for trees, assist with planting and provide flower arrangements for their annual fundraiser.

The Cherry Trees

The Little Garden Club planted the initial Yoshino cherry trees along Cherry Road, from Southern to Park, in the 1950s. We continue to support their care and preservation, including funding the recent purchase of 28 new trees in 2021.
